Saturday's very hot afternoon saw the staging of the Galaxy's first test of the season ahead of the 2022-23 Serie A now just around the corner.

As per tradition, the Giallorossi (for the occasion in a gray uniform) hosted their friends from USO Berlingo, fresh winners of the ANSPI national championships.

However, the Galaxy already had to deal with the absences of Crea and Simone Gazzoli due to injury, Davide Bregoli due to work and Eddiraoui still in Morocco.

The starting 7 in the new Long Street Park carries the names of Inverardi; Romeo; Belotti, Magri, Zammarchi, Bregoli F.; Gazzoli N.. (a disp. Boccuti, Mazzetti, Fioretti).

The hosts immediately seem at ease, finding geometry, timing and space from the first moments of the match. Nicola Gazzoli is the real change from last season, going on to replace Ravarini not only as a forward, but as an interpretation of the role. The number 20 dispenses balls with good lucidity and with the usual quality that has always distinguished him, making the Giallorossi maneuver fluid. To benefit the most are the forays without the ball of Zammarchi, a genuine loose cannon among the host biancoviola jerseys. The Galaxy ended the first half ahead by 3 goals with the overall score at 4-1. The goals bear the signature of Zammarchi (x3) and Belotti.

In the second half, Bertolini gave rest to Zammarchi, Bregoli and Gazzoli, bringing in Mazzetti, Fioretti and Boccuti.

In the resumption, the pace dropped dramatically for the hosts, aided by abnormal heat and a first half with the accelerator always pressed. Boccuti struggles disproportionately to keep the ball and the team suffers. The guests come out of their first-half torpor and begin to make themselves dangerous. There is room for Fioretti's eurogoal and Magri's goal before a suicidal tactical experiment by Bertolini with Gazzoli and Boccuti juggling as double buoys in front.

After 50' it ends 7-5 in favor of the Galaxy this first preparatory engagement, a good if unremarkable test. We thank as always our friends from USO Berlingo to whom we wish good luck for the future.

A few hours before the field commitment, the Giallorossi top management closed a lightning negotiation to bring another star player to Castegnatello. Only the officialdom is awaited, but Francesco Bergamaschi, in break with Foggia Academy passes to the court of Bertolini and Caracciolo. A genuine unexpected blow, just days before the start of the championship which projects the Galaxy even higher in expectations this season.
