The most anticipated match of the 8th day of Group 5 is definitely the challenge at Long Street Park in Castegnato, where USO Galaxy - Boca Sampa is staged. Both teams come to the big match from two draws: the yellow and red from the 4-4 draw in Trenzano, while the San Pancrazio boys from the sensational 6-6 home draw with Prati Verdi.
Martinuz finds his place between the posts again, covered by Romeo, Magri, Mazzetti M., Bertolini, Belotti and Bergamaschi (a disp. Crea, Mazzetti A., Bregoli, Gazzoli, Eddiraoui, Boccuti).
The match couldn't have started better for Valenza's band, which immediately took the lead thanks to a free kick scored by Bergamaschi on the first lap of the clock. A few minutes later, the match director also annulled the goal of the possible 2-0 to the Giallorossi center forward for a hand touch before the shot. The risk taken awakens the front-runners who gradually take possession of the game and chances. Dibu performed a miracle before capitulating on the 1-1 goal in the 6th minute on a corner kick action.
Again from a corner kick, two minutes later, came the 1-2 goal, spoiled, however, by an obvious arm touch not detected by the referee: scandalous.
The Galaxy became nervous and could not find the key to hurt Boca. Halfway through the fraction also came the goal for the guests' double advantage, thanks to a personal action by the Gialloblu center forward who munched Romeo before slotting Martinuz in at the far post.
The first half offers no other excitement than yet another refereeing decision that causes discussion: Bergamaschi kicks at the goal, on the goalkeeper's short rebound Bertolini arrives first and kicks the ball before being hit on the ankle. All good according to the referee.
On the return to the field, the score doesn't change: the Giallorossi try without, however, finding the key to the match; the guests compact and limit the risks, trying to sting through the countless weapons at their disposal. In the 5th minute, Valenza opts to insert Eddiraoui in place of Bertolini. The change does not guarantee the desired effect - at least in the immediate term - because after a few minutes Boca finds the goal of the momentary 1-4.
With the triple advantage gained, the Gialloblu decide to take no more chances and cement the three points in the last quarter of the game. Valenza takes over Romeo for Crea and Mazzetti for Bregoli, looking for more dynamism in the neuralgic area. In the 47th minute, Bergamaschi invents a marvelous backheel assist that puts Eddiraoui in face-to-face with the goalkeeper; the Rabat outfielder is cool and polished, netting his first goal of the season for the 2-4 goal.
With little to play for, the Galaxy attempted a desperate final push, but Boca was adept at putting the result on ice, securing a vital victory in the title race.
For the Giallorossi only one point in their last two games, not the best calling card for the Derby scheduled for Thursday at San Filippo Stadium. Mr. Valenza is called upon to lift the spirits of a team that appeared mentally drained.
