Day 15 of Group 2 is staged at Long Street Park, with the Galaxy set to host tail-end Nave. The Giallorossi are coming off a last-gasp victory over Polipez, while the guests arrive in Castegnato convinced they can make another important scalp after their incredible win over Queen's (2-1) in their last outing.
The Bregoli brothers and Zammarchi are back available, albeit with reduced minutes; forced to raise the white flag Gamba because of a hamstring strain suffered in the last match.
Bertolini sends in Martinuz; Crea; Gazzoli, Magri, Mazzetti, Belotti; Bergamaschi (disp: Romeo, Bregoli F., Zammarchi, Fioretti, Bregoli D., Boccuti).
The start of the match is characterized by the desire not to uncover too much and risk as little as possible in the most classic of study phases. The Giallorossi favored ball possession, leaving the opponents the opportunity to throw long to then look for the supports provided by their center forward. In the 11th to take the lead are the guests with a turn in the middle of the area of the dangerous striker: Crea is unable to limit his movement and Martinuz can do nothing on the close conclusion. The guest advantage lasts just two laps of the clock because from the 13th minute Bergamaschi's show begins with a free kick from the left side that goes over the barrier and into the far post.
Galvanized, the Galaxy begin to take the field and conviction, again entrusting Bergamaschi with the task of finishing the action: in the 18th minute Gazzoli centrally serves the number 2 who in front of the goal is cold and puts his team ahead. Two minutes later again Bergamaschi earns another free kick for an unhinged intervention against him and takes charge again with the same outcome as the previous one, signing his personal hat trick. Not yet satiated, he decides in the 24th to graciously offer the entire team a tasty refreshment for the realized poker, making the most of Magri's assist, increasing to 16 goals in 9 games the season's haul. One man show. Before halftime there is also time for a miracle by Martinuz who foils the possible 4-2 with a spectacular save.
Upon returning from the regenerating break with hot tea Crea makes way for Romeo. Not even the time for the whistle to blow that the Galaxy found the 5-1 goal with "Van" Belotti, who was good at surprising the defense with a cut back to the center and framing Magri's assist from very far away, in a goal that faithfully recalls the one scored by Van Persie in the 2018 World Cup against Spain.
The match effectively ended there, with the guests intent solely on creating tension on the pitch rather than trying to play it out. The Giallorossi are good at not falling into the traps, but for a foul on the play Magri gets a very heavy yellow that will force the Giudice Sportivo to issue a disqualification for added cautions, excluding him prematurely from the big match against Queen's. Gazzoli, not physically at his best, gives way to Francesco Bregoli.
In the 11th minute, the referee has no choice but to whistle the maximum penalty in favor of the Galaxy for a kick rifled on Bergamaschi's leg. On the penalty spot came Magri who did not miss and brought the score to 6-1.
The pinwheel of changes began with Bregoli D., Zammarchi, Boccuti and Fioretti taking the place of Mazzetti, Magri, Bergamaschi and Belotti, respectively.
The last gasp of the match is the 6-2 goal on a free kick from the limit, but the games are long since closed.
The hosts finally find their second consecutive victory and firmly maintain fourth place at +4 over the first pursuer. Next week's challenge to Queen's may reveal the true value of the Giallorossi.
