After the home defeat against defending champion Queen's, for the Galaxy the chance for redemption takes the name of PPZ 2014, current holders of the UEFA Leonessa Cup. A tough opponent, capable of winning every home match and leading the standings with only one defeat (at the hands of the usual Queen).
The Giallorossi come to it with major defections: Belotti is still unavailable and the timetable for his return is uncertain, Eddiraoui is on another continent and Zammarchi is added to the list due to flu. Bertolini's starting 7 therefore consists of Vitali; Romeo; Gazzoli S., Magri, Mazzetti, Bregoli F.; Bergamaschi (a disp. Crea, Fioretti, Bregoli D., Gazzoli N., Boccuti).
The start is bad and after just 12'' the hosts are already ahead, accomplices of the Galaxy too passive in the defensive phase. The slap in the face, however, woke up the Giallorossi and after six laps of the lancets the score was back on even footing thanks to the usual Magri, who took full advantage of Simone Gazzoli's splendid tower in the center of the area from a few steps.
The Sarezzo red-and-whites, however, did not stand for it and began to take over the game and take possession of the field. At halftime came a double blow that knocked the Galaxy down and allowed the hosts to find the double advantage within 4'. At the end of the first half, the red and white found the 4-1 goal by taking advantage of the difficulties of the yellow-and-whites, who were not very hungry and at the total mercy of their opponents. At the last second of recovery, however, an own goal from a corner kick action restored light and hope to the Galaxy, who gave thanks and went to rest down by two goals.
The second half restarted with the same men, but Bertolini sent Nicola Gazzoli to warm up to try to have more weight going forward, complicit with a knee problem for his cousin. The Galaxy restarted strong and PPZ struggled to regain the pace and intensity of the first half. Enter Nicola Gazzoli (hijacking Bergamaschi on the right) and shortly thereafter it was the number 20 who served the support to Magri for the momentary 4-3 goal.
The inertia of the match seemed to be reversed, but the guests never managed to find the right breakthrough to get the equalizer.
The mockery came with 9' to go with the 5-3 goal that cut the Galaxy's legs for good. Bertolini (ejected) ordered from the stands all-out with the entry of Davide Bregoli for his brother. The onslaught does not bring the desired effects and in the last two minutes of the game PPZ rounds out the lead with two more goals.
The Galaxy thus remain on 8 points (with a game to be made up), a good 10 less than the three tenors in front (Queen's, PPZ and St. John's) who at the moment seem unreachable.
On Saturday, within the friendly walls of Long Street Park, the dutiful test of redemption against OM Zanardini on equal points in the standings.
