Group and schedule for the new season unveiled

The end of the soccer market is still fresh, but the new championship is already quivering. The CSI, in the usual setting in Nyon, has diagrammed the calendar for the 2022/23 season. Serie A kicks off the weekend of September 24/25.

The main change is dictated by the institutions' desire not to stop the league even in the face of such an event as the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Teams with players committed to participating national teams will be forced to a not inconsiderable handicap. There has been no shortage of controversy over a completely countercultural choice.

The Comtittee explains how it is not possible to guarantee a "super break" by stopping the championships from November 13 to January 4. Then there is the ending factor because the championship will start as usual at the last of September, but it will end early, at the beginning of April, a situation that allows to anticipate the timing of the Leonessa Cup, slipped by more than a month since the post-Covid.

The main news for the Galaxy is the change of the Group. Not great news actually because the Giallorossi, along with their "housemates" Pol.Com.Ome, have been moved to Group 2, the one with the teams from Val Trompia, to be clear. Hostile transfers by tradition on fields disliked by the Castegnatesi.

Moreover, illustrious names appear among the teams in the Group starting with the superfavorite Queen FC fresh winner of the CSI Triplete (Championship, Provincial and Supercup), passing through PPZ 2014, holder of the last two UEFA Coppa Leonessa, and GO S.Giovanni di Polaveno. The newcomer is Sporting San Lorenzo, a club that took over the old CSI Carcina. Others include Muratello ASD, Polipez A, OM Zanardini, RealValle GSTL and Oratorio Nave.

It starts immediately at home, Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. for the challenge against the green-and-white Allherta BVZ.
