Too wide a gap between the Giallorossi (decimated) and the hosts to think of bringing home points from the Polaveno field.
The away match on the last day before the break sees Mr Bertolini forced to lose Bergamaschi due to a rib fracture, Romeo due to flu and Mazzetti in the warm-up due to a strain not completely reabsorbed; with Eddiraoui still in Morocco and Davide Bregoli away from the field due to injury the away match for the Castegnatesi is almost a "mission impossible."
Bertolini opts for the classic 1-4-1 composed of Vitali; Crea; Magri, Zammarchi, Gazzoli S., Belotti; Boccuti (a disp. Fioretti, Mazzetti, Bregoli F., Gazzoli N.).
The hosts are a battleship, ready to fight for the championship until the last day and boast a deadly attack.
The start really smiles on the white-blue team, which was able to take a 2-0 lead after 6' thanks to two inattentions of the Giallorossi defense. The double disadvantage did not scratch the Galaxy, intent on not becoming the sacrificial victim of the day, and on 9' Belotti found the goal that shortened the distance from a scheme on a corner kick taken by Zammarchi. A few moments later it is Boccuti who has a double chance: the first he builds himself, inventing a volley from a prohibitive position, but the ball passes two fingers over the crossbar; the other chance is colossal, but the oriundo kicks high from a few steps after venturing on a short rebound of the goalkeeper.
In the 19th minute the Polaveno boys regained the double advantage on an indecision by Simone Gazzoli. In the 20th minute Belotti called for a change after a very hard clash in which the Giallorossi outfielder got the worst of it; Fioretti took his place. At the end of the first half also comes the 4-1 goal.
The Magical Army is injured but not yet dead, and the return to the field rewards the Galaxy's will. The signature of the momentary 4-2 is of course Magri, author of a masterpiece goal.
In the middle of the second half, however, the technical superiority of the hosts was reflected on the Giallorossi, and in sequence the whites drew two jewels on which Vitali could do nothing.
Simone Gazzoli leaves the field to Bregoli and Nicola Gazzoli takes the place of Boccuti, author of a good game.
There is time for two more goals that condemn the Galaxy to the 8-2 final, perhaps too much for what was seen on the field, but a hard lesson for the Giallorossi.
Now the break, then space for the rematch with Muratello scheduled for Jan. 21 within the friendly walls of Long Street Park.
