Official: Ravarini leaves USO Galaxy!

The news we hoped we would never have to write has now become official. The Society has issued an official statement:

Nicolò Ravarini's history with the USO Galaxy comes to an end today, after the consensual termination of his contract USO Galaxy announces that Nicolò Ravarini has decided not to extend his adventure with the yellow and red jersey. We all wish to thank the player for the extraordinary moments we have lived together and for having honored with professionality, commitment and love the Giallorossi jersey. To have had the opportunity to share a part of our journey together was a privilege and an honor. And a pleasure it will be to follow him again, in whatever jersey he wears. Because the Giallorossi one, we know, will always be a part of him and his story. Thank you for everything Rava! Galaxy once, Galaxy forever!

Underlying the choice were the personal motivations that led the best striker in Galaxy history to shed the number 10 jersey.

45 goals and 10 assists in 39 total appearances, including 29 goals and 6 assists in 23 appearances last season. A lethal and dependable goal machine, in fact with him on the field the Galaxy always started 1-0. Numbers speak for El Diez, but they risk obscuring the other side of the coin: in addition to the goals Ravarini leaves a not inconsiderable character and moral vacuum in the locker room. As a charismatic leader, he always knew how to match words with deeds, and the group recognized him on the field as a dragger.

Rava also holds three records with the Galaxy jersey: he is the player who has scored in more consecutive games (9), the author of the fastest hat trick (4'15'' against San Rocco) and, together with Magri, he's the only one who has been able to finish more than one season with more goals than games played.

Records that in fact place him rightfully in the Giallorossi Hall Of Fame.
