In Group 2 of Serie A, with 100' to go until the end of the championship, there are still verdicts to be defined. In addition to the title, of course, one team still has to be relegated to Serie B (Orat. Nave arithmetically last) and the two teams that will go to the play-outs for staying in Serie A, as well as (though less important) the race for fourth place. The Giallorossi have gained access to the next Serie A thanks to the point obtained in the home draw with Real Valle in the last outing, so the last two games will serve as access to the fourth place and in preparation for the UEFA Coppa Leonessa; for Muratello instead, the chances of salvation pass indelibly from the match against Galaxy. The balance of the round is demonstrated by the fact that with two days to go the hosts could find themselves hypothetically fourth as well as in Serie B.
The instrumental examinations carried out by Boccuti leave no escape for the Tanque, who is forced to raise the white flag until the end of the season. The glimmer of being able to see him on the pitch in a hypothetical match in the second phase of the Cup has faded, postponing the roar of the '96 class oriundo until next season. Also away from Muratello were Davide Bregoli and Gamba (soon to return).
Bertolini sent on Martinuz; Romeo; Gazzoli, Magri, Bregoli F., Belotti; Bergamaschi (a disp. Crea, Fioretti, Mazzetti, Zammarchi).
It didn't start well for the Galaxy, who after 7' found themselves already down by two goals, coming from two long distance shots. In the 8th minute, however, thanks to a penalty impeccably converted by Gazzoli (who scored his first goal of the season), the Giallorossi reopened the game. After three laps of the clock, however, came the 3-1 goal courtesy of Bregoli. The midfielder made up for it immediately, however, by depositing behind the goalkeeper's shoulders the through ball served by Belotti. In the 14th minute Bergamaschi earned a free kick from an inviting position and scored with power. Among the home ranks an injury forced the coach to use the only change on the bench and in fact the match ended there. Muratello lost competitiveness and surrendered, raising the white flag halfway through the first half. The Galaxy took advantage of this and in the space of a few minutes strung together three goals thanks to Bergamaschi (x2) and Bregoli.
The first half ended and Bertolini changed the whole bench: Fioretti in for Belotti, Crea for Gazzoli, Zammarchi for Bergamaschi and Mazzetti for Bregoli. Romeo moved to the right and Magri went to act as a buoy up front. The plot did not change, quite the contrary. In the first minute Crea recovered the ball centrally and served Magri who, from a few steps, did not miss. In the 3rd minute Romeo sowed panic on the right before putting a ball in the centre that was only to be pushed towards goal; Fioretti was first to arrive on the trajectory and scored his second consecutive goal. A minute later Magri again found the way to the goal, bringing the score to 3-9. Bertolini opted to spare the players most squeezed during the season and sent Bregoli and Gazzoli back onto the field in place of Magri and Romeo for the last 20 minutes. Zammarchi went on to act as a false nueve in one of the many tactical experiments tried during the match. Chances continued to rain down for the Galaxy, but the final choices did not reward the Giallorossi. The hosts, in a few flashes here and there, came close to Martinuz and found the way to goal in the 14th minute on a penalty kick and in the 17th minute.
The Magica Armata, however, immediately put things back on track and in three minutes scored three more times with Gazzoli and Zammarchi (x2). On the last lap of the clock came the goal of the final 6-12 with which the teams said goodbye.
An unexpected result due to the proportions, but one that allows the Giallorossi to arrive at the last challenge against GO S.Giovanni in fourth place. For Muratello the road is now uphill, awaiting the away match in Sarezzo against PPZ. Nave's boys need a point for mathematical salvation, or hope that two of OM Zanardini, Polipez and Allherta do not win.
