GSO Duomo 5-4 USO GALAXY

The Leonessa Cup round of 16 pits Duomo and Galaxy against each other again, following the Giallorossi's crushing 8-1 victory during the group stage.

The technical gap between the two teams is high, but worrying the Magical Army are the absences and external conditions. Dibu Martinuz forfeits for the Rovato trip and so in defense of the posts there goes again Gazzoli who plays the outside role. As if that were not enough Fioretti, Davide Bregoli and Zammarchi are not available, to which are added Bergamaschi and Magri not in the best condition. Fortunately Bertolini finds Gamba again, if only for the last time. The starting 7 consists of Gazzoli; Romeo, Crea; Belotti, Mazzetti, Bregoli F.; Bergamaschi (a disp. Magri, Gamba).

The weather is adverse and the pitiful conditions in which the playing field pours certainly tip the scales on the side of the hosts, pushed by an exaggerated cheering moved no doubt by the Giallorossi blazon.

As expected, the contest soon takes to embarrassing levels, to say the least. The Galaxy undoubtedly suffer from not having a goalkeeper on a day when the goalkeeper more than ever would make a difference. Dome does not for any reason try to try to play soccer, but relies solely on caciara inside the opponent's penalty area, firing volleyed balls in the direction of the goal from any distance and in any situation.

We find it complicated to make a chronicle of the match that deviates from the lines above, but we will try.

In the 14th minute Dome throws the ball forward and from a scrum finds the 1-0 goal.

The Galaxy are forced to unnaturalize, however, finding in Bergamaschi a safe harbor in which to dock. The center forward brought the match back to even thanks to a splendid conclusion that slotted into the cross.

In the 25th minute, Duomo throws the ball forward and from a scrum finds the 2-1 goal.

They go to rest on the score of 2-1. On the return, the Galaxy try to push and, again thanks to Bergamaschi, grab the equalizer.

In the 29th minute the Dome threw the ball forward and from a scrum found the 3-2 goal.

In the 33rd minute Cathedral threw the ball forward and from a scrum found the 4-2 goal.

The only passes on the ground in the match came from Galaxy plots; from one of these came Bergamaschi's third goal for the momentary 4-3.

In the 39th minute Cathedral threw the ball forward and from a scrum found the 5-3 goal.

In the 45th minute Magri is knocked down in the box by a disjointed intervention by the direct opponent, who bravely protests. On the penalty spot comes Bergamaschi who signs his personal poker, lighting up the last 5'.

One minute from the triple whistle Bergamaschi receives the ball in midfield and points at the home defense being knocked down by a totally late intervention, managing however to serve Magri in the center of the area who finds the equalizing goal, but, as if that were not enough the referee cancels the goal to grant the free kick in favor of the Galaxy. Madness.

The final forcing leads to nothing but to fuel nervousness. The match director does not see the hosts' time wasting as sanctionable, and after the triple whistle Gamba is ejected for protests.

A difficult match to comment on. To the round of 16 certainly does not get there the strongest team, but the one that best adapted to the external context.

The huge disappointment remains for not having achieved one of the season's goals.
